July 20, 1996 - Van Halen, who have sold over 80 million albums
worldwide, have bowed to record company pressure and decided to release a Greatest Hits
compilation. Latest reports say that it will be a single 16-track CD, featuring songs
from both the David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar eras. The album *will* contain new tracks,
however it is doubtful the new Sammy Hagar track titled "Between Us Two" will make it to
the final album as Sammy never finished it before the recent breakup.
David Lee Roth is back at 5150 writing with Edward Van Halen. The band will begin
recording new material at 5150 with producer Glen Ballard on Monday July 22. Van
Halen's Greatest Hits is due for release in October.
