LOS ANGELES - Legendary rock band Van Halen has parted ways with singer Sammy Hagar and resumed working with vocalist David Lee Roth, who quit the group in a bitter dispute a decade ago.
A spokeswoman for the veteran band's management yesterday said Roth was recording a track for a greatest hits package scheduled for release in October.
It was not clear at this stage whether it was a prelude to his re-joining the band full time.
Roth left the band in 1985 after the success of a solo record.
The band was expected to wither without him but went on to reach greater heights with Hagar.
