NAMM Update
January 19, 2004
The NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) Convention took place this past weekend (January 15-18), at the Anaheim Convention Center, in Anaheim, CA. Michael Anthony did make an appearance at three separate booths on Saturday the 17th.
According to Mike's official web site, here was his schedule for the Saturday:
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM St. Louis Music
3:00 PM - 4:00 PM Yamaha
4:30 PM - 5:15 PM Dean Markley
Mike was on hand to sign autographs for fans, and was sure to be bombarded with questions about the future of Van Halen, and the persistant rumors that Sammy Hagar is rejoining the band sometime soon.
According to "rolsguitars," a long-time member of Van Halen Forums.com, he did ask Mike the all-important question about the band's future, and received the following response. "The brothers are talking with Sammy, there are some hurdles, but everything is moving in the right direction." He did not give any timetables for anything, but he did sound optimistic, according to "Rol."
Eddie Van Halen was not scheduled to appear this year at NAMM. However, at the Peavey booth, there was an EVH poster, along with a couple new 5150 II stacks, and a number of colorful, custom Wolfgang guitars.
