After 10 platinum albums and tours through some 22 countries, David Lee Roth has become a true icon of the Rock & Roll era. When his tenure as an original band member of rock & roll supergroup Van Halen ended in 1985, "Diamond Dave" proved, without a doubt, that he could hold his own in the music world. His debut four-song EP "Crazy From The Heat" spun off two hit singles, a cover of the Beach Boys' "California Girls" and Louis Prima's "Just A Gigolo/I Ain't Got Nobody." After multi-platinum work with Steve Vai, Nile Rodgers and others, Roth was last seen slugging it out with the Van Halens for a two song Greatest Hits Reunion.
THE BEST features 20 tracks from the five albums made for Warner Bros. from 1985 to 1994, with an all-star lineup of musicians and contributors, including Billy Sheehan, Steve Vai, Greg Bisonette and Nile Rodgers. Liner notes include a retrospective commentary by Dave himself, as well as complete lyrics to all the tracks on THE BEST. THE BEST also includes a brand new, unreleased track, only available on this compilation: "Don't Piss Me Off," which will be serviced to radio on October 10.
David Lee Roth's visibility in the media will be high, with the much-anticipated dual releases of this album and his autobiography "Crazy From The Heat!"
