More music from The Wild Life! Here’s what we call “Love Song,” a pretty little guitar track from the 1984 movie The Wild Life. This has never been heard in full until now.
This beautiful little piece, not reliant on gain and effects, could be a cousin of “Women In Love.” It’s very lovely, with a chime-like quality.
This was played on a stratocaster. We wonder if it’s the same one Edward used on the intro to “Hear About It Later?”
Check out the video below, from PM Magazine in late 1982, where Edward plays “Love Song” with the Franky. He plays a few seconds of it at exactly 4 minutes into the video. (Followed by a bit of “Panama”—over a year before that song’s release)!
More exclusive tracks on the way! The Van Halen News Desk will be releasing much of Ed’s music from The Wild Life film score throughout the coming weeks, via our Van Halen Vault youtube channel (subscribe here). These are the full, raw tracks that Eddie recorded, before they were edited for use in the movie. These complete tracks have never been heard anywhere before! So stay tuned, track #9 is coming soon! (Others we released so far: “Out The Window,“ “Top Down,” “Back To School,” “(Nearly) Good Enough,” “All Fired Up,” “Peeping Tom,” and “Fashion Dynasty.”
