This past November, shortly after Edward Van Halen’s passing, the fan-run Facebook Group named “Eddie Van Halen” put together a live concert tribute to Eddie.
This exclusive event turned out to be a tremendously fun tribute to the King from 11 talented musicians. Now’s your chance to watch it from start to finish.
The feed was from Crescent Sound Studios in Farmingdale, NY. Musicians from Long Island, Connecticut, Massachusetts all took part in the event. Most of whom are from Van Halen tribute guys from the bands Van Hagar, Bottoms Up!, and Everybody Wants Some.
This concert generated over 25,000 views and 1,300 comments. Viewers were very emotional in the live feed chat, bringing tears of joy for many people. The musicians were blown away by the support and love for what they did. The players got together to celebrate EVH and the it shows in the performance ending with an impromptu “Happy Trails” love fest at the end.
When watching the video, it starts with a still shot, so fast forward to 9:20, which begins a photo montage tribute to EVH to a live bootleg of a killer Eddie Van Halen guitar solo. The actual tribute concert starts at 11:55…. a blistering set of 19 Van Halen tunes featuring David-era and Sammy-era material.
