Sammy Hagar says Ted Templeman was able to “crack the code” and help capture the classic Van Halen vocal sound on his latest album with the Circle.
For Crazy Times (due out September 30th), the album’s producer Dave Cobb was determined to make the most of Michael Anthony’s vocals. He wanted to hear Mikey sound like he did on all of the classic Van Halen records. He and Sammy decided to pick up the phone and call Templeman, the man who produced the first six Van Halen albums and co-produced 1991’s For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge..
