Fan footage of Mammoth WVH performing the brand new single “Take A Bow” live for the first time has surfaced, and it’s every bit as good as the studio version, most notably Wolfgang Van Halen’s guitar solo.
In the video above, filmed during Mammoth WVH’s June 28th performance in Lisbon, Portugal, Wolfgang performs “Take A Bow” with his forthcoming EVH SA-126 semi-hollow. On the studio version, Wolfgang used his father Eddie’s legendary Frankenstein guitar with one of his original Marshall head and cab setups. The solo, highlighted by two-handed tapping runs reminiscent of his father, has received praised by fans and fellow musicians, including Michael Anthony.
“When the solo kicked in, I seriously got goosebumps,” said Anthony during an appearance on the podcast That ROCKS!. “I don’t know if his father, if Ed was channeling through his kid, but to me, that was something that Eddie would have played to a piece of music like that. I was getting goosebumps. I was just freaking out.”
“Take A Bow”, along with previous singles, “Another Celebration at the End of the World” and “Like a Pastime” will appear on the sophomore Mammoth WVH record, Mammoth II, which arrives August 4th.
