Eddie would be so proud! We love to see how Edward Van Halen’s works influence the younger generation!
YouTube user Flakeybiskits, an aspiring 16-year-old guitarist, has racked up a quarter-of-a-million views on a video of himself performing Eddie Van Halen’s mythical Live Without a Net solo at his high school talent show.
Some comments from YouTube:
“EVH is alive and well in our youth. This crowd hasn’t a clue what they just witnessed. Bravo.”
“The sad thing is that 99% of the people in the audience don’t even know what they’re hearing and what a brilliant tribute it is…”
“I expected the audience to jump up and give a standing ovation, Napoleon Dynamite style. That’s what he deserved!!”
“Wolfie needs to see this. Eddie is looking down on you and proud. Great job.”
“90% of the people there probably have no idea how difficult this is. I can’t do this and I have been playing for over 30 years.”
“This made me so happy. I used to watch that solo on a VHS tape so much that it ruined the tape. You play the subtle nuances perfectly. It’s clear that you love Eddie like so many of us do.”
“You kids aren’t ready for this but your grandparents are gonna love it.”
