As previously reported, Van Halen bassist Wolfgang Van Halen has joined TREMONTI, the solo band of guitarist Mark Tremonti (Alter Bridge/ Creed), for the bands current tour. Tremonti is currently touring in support of his solo debut album ‘All I Was’.
Wolfgang was scheduled to be on the road with Van Halen for much of late 2012, but his father, guitarist Eddie Van Halen, recently had emergency surgery following a severe bout of diverticulitis. He is expected to make a full recovery, with the band rumored to be returning to the road in 2013.
In the first video below, Mark Tremonti talks about Wolfgang’s involvement on the bands current tour, and reveals that he initially wanted Wolfgang to play bass on his new album, but the bassist’s commitments to his other band kept it from happening.
In the second video, watch Garrett and Wolfgang give you a MTV Cribs style tour of the tour bus’ back room as they prepare to hit the stage for showtime.
The third video shows more shenanigans of life on the road with TREMONTI.
