UPDATE: We’ve added ‘Mission to Mars’ And ‘Howard Stern Private Parts’
“Ooh, baby, baby!”
Van Halen’s timeless classic “Dance the Night Away” is being used in yet another trailer for a new movie. It’s the main song in the second trailer that’s been released for Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. (Watch the trailer below).
It’s great to see such a popular movie featuring a Van Halen song so prominently! But we’re getting used to that, as, believe it or not, this is actually the fourth time the Van Halen II classic was prominently featured in a recent movie or movie trailer! This makes it six movies in all.
Last year it was featured in the Oscar-winning Argo, starring Ben Affleck. (Watch that clip below). Also last year, Adam Sandler’s That’s My Boy featured three Van Halen songs, including “Dance the Night Away” not once, but TWICE during the movie. (Watch that below). Lastly, the quintessential Van Halen song was featured as the main song in the trailer for 2010’s Grown Ups, also starring Adam Sandler. (Though that trailer can’t be found online anymore).
And speaking of Adam Sandler, he was officially proclaimed the “Customer of the Year” at Van Halen Store two years ago, after he placed five huge orders, setting himself up with a lifetime supply of Van Halen shirts!
Let’s recap. Here’s all six movies which feature “Dance the Night Away“:
1) Howard Stern Private Parts: The Movie (1997)
2) Dance the Night Away – Mission to Mars (2000)
3) Grown Ups (2010) trailer only
4) That’s My Boy (2012)
5) Argo (2012)
6) Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues (December 2013)
