11-year-old rocker, Aidan Fisher, is going viral. His biggest idol is Eddie Van Halen, and his dream is “to make a Van Halen Tribute band. Have some cover songs and make some original songs on my own.”
From WOWT.com:
One million hits on You Tube – and growing. An aspiring Omaha rocker is going viral and it’s easy to see why he’s someone to watch.
He’s only 11-years-old, but Aidan Fisher is bringing the noise.
“It’s fun to play. And it sounds awesome.” said Fisher.
A few weeks ago, Aidan went from the stage at School of Rock in Millard to the big stage at a Steel Panther concer in Kansas City.
The band asked Aidan on stage if he was nervous. He said no, in front of thousands of fans.
But when we asked him, “Were you nervous?” “YES!”
It all began when Aidan ran into Steel Panther guitarist Satchel in his Kansas City hotel.
“He said instead of an autograph, he’d bring me on stage.” said Fisher.
Aidan and his dad, Chris Fisher, waited four hours to get into the front row. Aidan brought a sign challenging Satchel to a solo.
“He brought me up on stage on and I played Eruption by Eddie Van Halen.”
Played, is an understatement. Aidan blew away the band, and his moment to shine didn’t end there.
His dad was recording the performance and he put it on YouTube. It’s had a million hits and it keeps going.
“I think that’s surprisingly, surprisingly awesome.” said Fisher.
Also surprising? Aidan’s only been playing for three years – since he was eight.
“I want to make a Van Halen Tribute band. Have some cover songs and make some original songs on my own,” said Fisher.
No doubt one day the fans cheering for Aidan will know his name.
Aidan was also called on the stage (at random) with Guns N’ Roses. They didn’t know he played but they did get a picture with him.
Aidan’s biggest idol is Eddie Van Halen. He even decorated his guitar to match one of Van Halen’s, stripe for stripe.
Aidan will also be featured on Ripley’s Believe It Or Not. WOWT’s Malorie Maddox was interviewed about her story with Aidan.
‘My Dad made this for me over the weekend… He used the “I challenge Satchel” sign and the pick I used at the concert… Pretty cool!’
