MISSION
Our mission is to provide accurate Van Halen news and nostalgia. For over 25 years, we have been the most trusted source of news and rumors about Van Halen for music fans worldwide, and major music media outlets have frequently cited us.
The VHND is unofficial and not affiliated with Van Halen, Edward Van Halen, or ELVH, Inc.
The VHND staff also runs Van Halen Store, which offers the world’s largest selection of officially licensed Van Halen and EVH merchandise.
STAFF
Jeff Hausman is the Owner/Publisher/Editor of VHND. Jeff was the publisher of The Inside, the all-Van Halen magazine published from 1995 to 2000, which went on to become the band’s official magazine. Jeff has interviewed current and former band members and visited Eddie’s 5150 recording studio. Jeff has had a relationship with Van Halen management for 30 years. They’ve used some of his ideas for making official merchandise, and they printed The Inside’s website address in the liner notes of two albums. Jeff has been interviewed on the DVD documentary The Van Halen Story: The Early Years.

He has followed the band — through all its incarnations — religiously since then. When he’s not living his life like there’s no tomorrow, Doug is an award-winning journalist specializing in rock music and entertainment coverage with 30 years of experience in the newspaper business. In his spare time away from following Van Halen, Doug is the Features Editor at the Daily Herald in Provo, Utah. Read all Doug’s articles.

An avid VH follower since 1979, Dodds works in the publishing industry and is a freelance writer, semi-pro guitarist, and voracious consumer of rock biographies. He lives in Austin, Texas. Read all Kevin’s articles.
Jay Cruise does Web design, graphics, and video production. He’s worked in the music business for over 25 years, and when not working on projects about his favorite band, he works at a major record label in Los Angeles building websites.
About The Inside magazine:
The Inside is an all-Van Halen full-color, glossy magazine published from 1995 – 2000. Each issue is packed cover to cover with never-before-seen photos, exclusive interviews, and little-known info on Van Halen. Thousands subscribed to it worldwide, and thousands of copies were sold in music stores. It was, for a few years, Van Halen’s official magazine, promoted inside Van Halen’s CD liner notes and sold on tour. After publishing the final issue of The Inside, we stopped producing the magazine and concentrated on running the Van Halen News Desk and Van Halen Store. Some back issues of the magazine are available here.
