There was a point in time when Mitch Malloy possibly could have became the lead singer of Van Halen. Hear how he sounded covering a Van Halen classic.
The video above features Malloy performing his favorite Van Halen song, “I’m The One,” at the Whisky A Go Go in Los Angeles last Saturday, December 17th. Featuring Tristan Avakian on guitar Tyler Warren on drums and Mika Nuutinen on bass. Mitch’s video states that here was not one note tuned on this recording.
We always like it when anyone covers Van Halen, as we enjoy all the tributes. Of course, the fact that Malloy us doing it ups the “what-if” interest quotient considerably.
So, what do you think? Does Mitch have the vocals and swagger to be “The One?” Did the guitar player have the right feel?
