Updated with video above.
Model citizens and The University of Oklahoma fans had an onramp coming through their stadium Saturday as the school’s marching band performed Van Halen’s “Panama” during the halftime show, complete with VH logo!
Video of the VH tribute hasn’t surfaced yet, but it probably will sometime soon. We’ll feature it here when it becomes available.
As for the No. 3-ranked Sooners, who crushed Tulane 56-14, it would appear that there “Ain’t no stopping now!”
From two fans who were there:
Been trying to keep a secret since I think it was early June, but a HUGE…I mean HUGE SHOUT OUT to Brian Britt, Brian Wolfe and the entire Pride of Oklahoma Band for tonight’s most epic halftime show.
Britt told me in June they wanted to do Van Halen’s Panama as part of the halftime show and he said “what do think?” I got chills and said a lot of things! Then I was told this week…”watch what happens on the field” and I sat there and was speechless with more cold chills.
That was INSANE. IN-SANE. And it sounded AMAZING! Dad would be proud!
You can’t get a better gift than this. I love you 2 guys and can’t wait for the high def photo for the canvas that will be on my wall in my office…SOON!

Eddie Van Halen has the pleasure of his songs played by many groups. This is my favorite marching band playing “Panama” yesterday in the halftime performance. The Pride of Oklahoma from the University of Oklahoma. Boomer Sooner, everybody!
