Updated with Part 2, below.
David Lee Roth wants your attention. How do we know? He’s wearin’ a bunny suit. That’s how we know…so pay attention! A brand new episode of The New Roth Show is up.
“I only wear the bunny suit when I need to get attention. When somebody’s not paying attention and I’ll tell ya how I got started with it,” said Roth donning a bunny suit and a serious facial expression as he kicked off the latest episode of his podcast.
Roth led with a story that we suspect occurred during the recording of Van Halen’s last studio album, 2012’s ‘A Different Kind of Truth’, at Henson Recording Studios in the heart of Hollywood. Apparently Roth wanted to head into the studio and lay down some vocals but was refused access since the studio was closed. Roth said he then threatened to dress himself along with his faithful partner Russ the dog in a bunny suit, drive down to the studio in a pick-up truck, park that truck out on the street in front of said studio, watch some T.V., drink some beers in the back of said truck until a giant traffic jam ensued.
“I got in my bunny suit and I got in that truck with Russ in his and we drove down 110, got on the Hollywood North and when we got to that gig inexplicably that thing was fuckin’ open… FEAR THE BUNNY,” said Roth.
You can watch Roth tell the whole story (bunny suit and all) below, followed by him getting into some other choice topics mentioned in the episode description, such as “DaVinci sticks it in the paint mixer, The self-taught genetic physicist, Atomic Pot, I actually knew a girl who could do that.. kinda, Fear The Bunny, and Poison Pot.
