Wolfgang Van Halen is rocking on…while sitting down.
The Mammoth WVH front-man performed seated with a boot on his left foot last night (Wednesday, October 21st) at his band’s headlining concert in Huntsville, Alabama. The boot is a result of Wolfgang spraining his foot earlier that day while walking off the tour bus. He posted the news to his Twitter page (under the current Halloween handle name of “Werewolf Van Helsing”) along with a photo of the new boot, adding that he’ll be wearing it for the next four to six weeks.
“Ate shit walking off the bus this morning and sprained the FUCK outta my ankle. Now I gotta rock this boot for 4-6 weeks,” said Wolfgang. “Looks like this boot’s gonna get some show experience. We’ll see ya tonight, Huntsville.”

Later that day Wolfgang joked that he’ll be taking his cue from Foo Fighters front-man Dave Grohl, who performed with a boot and seated during the Foo Fighters’ 2015 tour after falling from a Sweden stage and breaking his leg.
“Ok soundcheck was …interesting,” he posted to Twitter. “Looks like I’m gonna be Dave Grohl-ing it tonight, folks. Be patient with me haha.”

After the concert, Wolfgang shared his post-show thoughts on Twitter: “Welp… Never done that before, but we pulled it off! Thanks to Huntsville for making it such a special show!!”

Mammoth WVH was already down a bandmember after guitarist Frank Sidoris and his wife were injured in a serious car accident earlier this month in Los Angeles. The band has been performing as a four-piece ever since.
Mammoth WVH will be performing in Knoxville, Tennessee at the Mill & Mine tonight followed by an appearance in Atlanta as part of the Shaky Knees Music Festival on Saturday (October 23rd) before taking a break and returning to the road in June. Head to the official MammothWVH website for all of the band’s upcoming tour dates.
