If you had to pick just five of the 21 tracks that make up Van Halen’s first two classic albums what would they be? Do you favor the hit singles? The deep tracks? How about the Eddie Van Halen solo instrumentals?
Hosts of the podcast The Imbalanced History of Rock and Roll Ray Koob and Markus Goldman are serious Van Halen fans. So much so that, for their most recent episode, they decided to wager on how many of their five favorites from Van Halen and Van Halen II are the same. They also reminisced about the good ole’ days of drawing the Van Halen logo on Pee-Chee folders during class along with the not so good ole’ days of trying to speed dial 1-800 numbers for concert tickets before they sold out using a rotary phone. Ugh!
