Michael Anthony says he’s done something on the latest Sammy Hagar & The Circle track “Father Time” that he’s never done before, and the results are heavenly.
“That could be my favorite song on the [Crazy Times] album even though it is a mellower song,” Anthony said in a recent video posted to Sammy’s YouTube channel, which tells the story behind the track. “This is one of the songs where I did something in the recording process that I’ve never done before in my career and that was, in certain parts I sang all the background parts myself.
“[In the past] I’ve doubled my voice and tripled my voice, done stuff like that,” he added. “But I’ve always sung backgrounds with either Eddie in the beginning or Dave or whether it be Vic [Johnson] or Sammy or whatever. It’s a unique sound when I sing with Sammy but it’s like uh….I dunno know….it’s very angelic…It’s Michael Anthony! That’s all I can say!” [laughs]
