Van Halen’s “Jump” joins Spotify’s exclusive ‘Billions Club’ as it becomes the band’s first song to hit ONE BILLION streams on the platform!
Alex Van Halen was excited to share the news on social media, exclaiming, “Thanks to all the fans for listening!”
A pretty incredible feat, as only around 100 rock songs have reached that milestone, and less than 40 rock songs are from the ’80s. Pretty amazing in today’s musical climate!
“Jump” was released in December 1983 as the lead single of their sixth studio album, 1984. It is Van Halen’s most successful single, reaching number 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100, where it stayed for five weeks. That’s right – for five weeks straight, it was the best selling song on earth!
Congratulations, Van Halen!
